Emirates brings back Mile-a-Minute: up to 7,200 Skywards Miles for visitors to Dubai, but UAE residents are excluded

Skywards members who register and book a return Emirates or flydubai ticket by 5 November 2026 earn one bonus mile per minute in Dubai, capped at 7,200, for stays completed by 13 December. Residents of the UAE and tickets starting in the UAE do not qualify.

Emirates Skywards has brought back its Mile-a-Minute offer. It pays one bonus Skywards Mile for every minute a visitor spends in Dubai, up to 7,200 miles. Emirates says that equals five days in the city.

The first thing to know if you live here: it is not for you. The terms exclude members whose Skywards profile shows UAE residence. They also exclude tickets issued in the UAE and journeys that start here. The offer is for people flying in: family, friends and colleagues visiting between now and mid-December.

Everything below comes from Emirates’ own offer terms and its media-centre release, read on 26 October. When we tried the UAE edition of the offer page that day, it returned “page not found”. That fits the residency rule.

The rules that matter

  • Register, then book, by 5 November. Registration and ticketing must both happen by 11.59 p.m. Dubai time on 5 November 2026. The booking window opened on 21 October. You can register on emirates.com, in the Emirates app, on flydubai.com or through Emirates call centres. New members can join up to the same deadline.
  • Fly by 13 December. The whole journey must start and finish between 21 October and 13 December 2026. One aggregator headline gives 31 December. Emirates’ terms say 13 December.
  • Return fares only. One-way tickets do not count. On Emirates, Special, Saver, Flex and Flex Plus fares in every cabin qualify. On flydubai, Lite, Value and Flex in Economy and Business do.
  • EK or FZ flight numbers only. Codeshares and interline flights are excluded.
  • Stay at least 24 hours and at most 30 days. The minutes are counted from the scheduled arrival and departure times on the ticket, not from when you actually land.
  • Once per member. Only the first qualifying stay earns the bonus. If another promotion also pays a bonus, you get whichever is higher. Miles post within 30 days of the end of the stay.

What it is worth

The minimum 24-hour stay earns 1,440 miles. The 7,200 cap arrives at 120 hours, five full days. At our 2-fils Skywards baseline, the cap is worth about AED 144 and the minimum about AED 29. That comes on top of the miles the ticket earns anyway.

It is a modest sweetener, not a reason to fly. Its real use for UAE readers is as a nudge for visitors. If relatives are already planning a November or early-December trip, have them register and book a return ticket before 5 November, and stay at least a day.

Emirates’ page also reminds visitors to keep their boarding pass for partner discounts around the city. See our My Emirates Pass story for how that works.

Verified on 26 October 2026 against Emirates’ offer terms and media-centre release. AED figures are ours, at the 2-fils baseline.
